Saturday's Budweiser Shootout marked Jamie's first run in the Earnhardt Ganassi owned #1 Chevy.  He started 9th, and by the end of the first segment had worked his way up to 4th.  Shortly into the second segment, a problem (possibly with the ignition system) coming off of pit lane forced him to the back of the field.  He gradually worked his way back to the front, and within 10 laps to go, he was fighting for the lead with Kevin Harvick.  On the final restart, he got in line behind Kevin Harvick and Kasey Kahne, and narrowly avoided a wreck in Turn 3 to finish 3rd.
